About The Position
As a Residential Care Advisor-Medical & Financial in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities department at Pittsburgh Mercy, you will provide person-centered residential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role focuses on coordinating medical care and financial support to promote health, stability, and quality of life.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree OR High School Diploma/Equivalence and 1 year of paid social services work experience
- Valid Driver License and ability to drive an organization vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily living assistance, emotional and behavioral support, and implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) to promote independence and well‑being.
- Coordinate medical appointments and financial resources, including SSI, DPW, Medicare, and Rent Rebates.
- Complete medication documentation, annual assessments, and money management assessments as required.
- Maintain accurate communication logs and behavior notes.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide technical assistance to other staff and assist with orientation of new employees as assigned.
