About The Position

Spend the summer at camp! (housing included!) Love sports, teamwork, and making a real impact on kids’ lives? As a Residential Camp Counselor at Camp Tracy and New England Sports Camp, you’ll be an essential part of creating a fun, safe, and unforgettable camp experience. Counselors work closely with campers from Sunday through Friday (including overnight), helping children adjust, grow, and thrive within the program. This is a hands-on, high-energy role that includes leading daily activities, supporting campers both on and off the field, and living the camp life alongside them. POSITION SUMMARY: Assist with New England Sports Camps program activities as well as guiding/helping the children adjust and grow within the program guidelines. Comply with and participate fully in the instruction of various camp activities, and education programs. Counselors will be expected to be with campers from Sunday to Friday. Counselors are expected to be available for the entire camp season and staff training.

Nice To Haves

  • Clean driver’s license is beneficial
  • Certification for lifeguard, CPR, first aid, etc. is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a group of children, helping each child adjust and grow with other children within the program guidelines.
  • Participate in daily cleaning duties which include cleaning the cabins, the lodge eating area, bathrooms in the common shower facility and lodge (upstairs & down), emptying trash from the lodge and cabins, general upkeep of the lodge (sweeping, wiping tables, vacuuming, etc.), and final clean up at the close of camp
  • Sleep in cabins to provide overnight supervision to campers
  • Plan and implement daily curriculum for children to follow.
  • Become familiar with emergency protocol for accidents, first aid, etc.
  • Comply with and participate fully in the instruction of swimming, games, various camp activities, and education programs.
  • Ability to communicate and work with all groups participating (age and skill level) and provide necessary instruction to children.
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and discipline of children, areas, and equipment.
  • Aid in providing a safe, healthy, and fun experience for campers in the New England Sports Camps Program.
