About The Position

The Residential Broadband Technician at Cox Communications is responsible for installing, disconnecting, and troubleshooting residential broadband services, including video, high-speed internet, and telephony. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the quality of services meets industry standards. The technician will work under supervision, drive a company vehicle to various job sites, and maintain accurate records of transactions.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED with generally less than 2 years of experience in a related field; post-high school education a plus.
• 18 years of age.
• Valid state driver's license and a good driving record.
• Candidate must meet physical requirements for equipment and uniform use.
• Certifications and licenses, as required by state and municipal laws.
• One year of work experience in a comparable field.
• Minimum of one year of direct customer service experience.
• PC and Windows software skills.
• Stable work history.
• Able to work required shifts and overtime.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of experience specifically in-service installation and repair in multiple service provider and/or telecommunications environment.
• Spanish proficiency desirable in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Installing, disconnecting and troubleshooting video, high-speed internet, telephony and automation services.
• Driving a company vehicle between office or home, warehouse and work sites in a safe and courteous manner.
• Monitoring Cox's current work enablement system for changes to work schedule and current work assignments.
• Communicating with the CommCenter for onsite support and/or routing assistance.
• Interacting with customers and educating them regarding services and products.
• Working under supervision and consulting with supervisors and other technicians for advice and assistance as needed.
• Ensuring that the quality of services meets or exceeds industry and company performance standards.
• Participating in team meetings and attending job-related training.
• Working with alarms, low voltage electricity and color-coded wires.
• Maintaining accurate and high-quality recordkeeping of transactions.
