About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Facilitate client involvement in support groups and assess clients' progress on an individual basis as part of a multi-disciplined treatment team · Maintain active supervision of clients, including monitoring for safety, room checks, and behavioral observations/check-in’s · Perform client record maintenance · Maintain adequate stock of supplies · Conduct psychoeducational classes, utilizing evidence-based materials · Explain and enforce program policies/procedures · Transport clients to outside support groups, appointments, and other events as assigned by Program Manager or Lead Substance Use Technician · Document client administered medication schedule and monitoring of vitals · Perform client drug screens and searches of facility per program policies · Perform other supportive duties as assigned/required, to include meeting individually with clients to provide APSS services if applicable QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or equivalent · Certification as an Adult Peer Support Specialist preferred or willingness to obtain certification within a 12 month period · Attest to having a minimum of one year personal recovery experience (if applicable) · Preference given to individuals with one year experience in substance use/co-occurring field and a working knowledge of the 12-Step recovery model · Must pass a Criminal Record Check and Sexual Offender Registry check · Must present proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test · Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and active auto insurance that meets state minimum requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS: · May require transporting clients to appointments, activities, or other program-related needs. · Position is in a residential clinical treatment setting. Environment is fast-paced, client-focused, and may include exposure to individuals experiencing emotional distress, withdrawal symptoms, or behavioral instability. Requires ability to recognize such changes and respond appropriately, following crisis-prevention and de-escalation procedures. · Role encourages consistently upholding program rules and policies in a fair, respectful, and professional manner that provides corrective feedback and redirection to clients. Also requires ability to document and communicate incidents/concerns clearly to the clinical team. · Involves building rapport with clients, while maintaining clear therapeutic and ethical boundaries. · Position requires participate in ongoing training, supervision, and meetings to maintain skills and stay aligned with program expectations. · Role involves protecting client privacy in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards. · Requires adapting to weekend and/or evening and holiday schedules, depending on client and program needs. · Position involves utilizing 60% of work time in direct client contact activities.
