About The Position

The Residential Assistant provides support services and community support services to consumers with psychiatric impairments residing in Bridgeway residential facilities. Encourages individuals to make choices and decisions in all areas of their lives and providing the opportunities to learn how to make decisions. To learn more about this position, please read the summarized list of duties below: Provide individualized support to connect people to their communities and help them to become contributing community members. Provide assistance and support at social events and other community activities. Complete progress notes, goal reports and other clinical documentation by assigned deadline. Promote and provide activities that develop social and leisure skills. Monitor each consumers' mental status and function level, reporting changes to community support specialists or residential coordinator for further assessment and interventions. Provide medication training, and community support interventions as specified in the consumer centered plan. Assist with general cleaning and maintenance of the residence as assigned including and purchasing of supplies as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must meet the Department of Mental Health (DMH) credentialing requirements of Rehabilitative Services Associate (RSA) to work in Mental Health related settings.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and meets organization's insurability requirements.
  • Employment with Bridgeway is conditional upon completion of all background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the human services field is desirable along with experience in working with people with disabilities.
