About The Position

The Guild for Human Services is dedicated to educating, encouraging, and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. The position involves assisting the Residential Manager in developing and implementing a comprehensive residential program for assigned individuals. Employees work to enhance the lives of youth and adults with intellectual disabilities and other challenges in a supportive environment.

Requirements

• Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.
• Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment and good interpersonal skills.
• Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles.
• Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the residence.
• A minimum of an Associate's Degree is preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
• Undergo background record check process.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each individual.
• Assist in the development and implementation of each individual's residential ISP/IEP and daily activity schedule.
• Attend and support individuals participating in all community experiences.
• Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans.
• Assist in record keeping and report writing, as assigned.
• Provide supervision of all individuals while under care.
• Administer and record individuals' medications, in compliance with MAP.
• Transport individuals to various locations.
• Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1:1 responsibilities.
• Participate in meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning.
• Engage in de-escalation of individuals.
