About The Position

The Residential Assistant Manager assists the Residential Manager in the direction of the day-to-day operation of a Residential or Apartment Program site. This role involves ensuring quality services are provided to each person supported through person-centered planning and maximizing opportunities for integration with the community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year experience working in the field of Human Services.
  • Six (6) months of management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of OPWDD regulations and systems preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain AMAP Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SCIP Core Certification, CPR, First Aid, and AED within 180 days of hire.
  • Ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person.
  • Clean, valid New York State driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Substantial reasoning skills including problem identification and data interpretation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure quality services are provided to each person supported through person-centered planning.
  • Assist the Manager in monitoring and documenting the delivery of all services.
  • Ensure that services, vehicles, and program environments are in compliance with ACLD’s Corporate Compliance Policy.
  • Assist in monitoring systems that promote organizational efficiencies and compliance with ACLD policies.
  • Supervise assigned staff within the program.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of staffing plans to ensure health and safety.
  • Implement and document the delivery of all Residential Habilitation services.
  • Assist with the completion and submission of all paperwork as outlined in the Manager’s Monthly Checklist.
  • Implement person supported behavioral support plans and document behaviors.
  • Assist in the hiring and recruitment process.
  • Monitor staff training requirements.
  • Develop and manage income and expense budgets.
  • Monitor personal allowance accounts for fiscal integrity.
  • Assist with transportation for persons supported.
  • Participate in admissions and discharges from the program.
  • Meet with persons supported and family members to share information and solicit feedback.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with other ACLD programs and departments.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
