About The Position

BRC is seeking a Residential Aide for Fulton House. This role is crucial in making a positive impact on the lives of New Yorkers experiencing homelessness by providing support for health, self-sufficiency, hope, and dignity. Requirements

  • HS diploma/ GED required
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • One year of experience was a security guard or counselor for the mentally ill preferred
  • Bilingual, Spanish/ English preferred
  • Valid drivers’ license preferred
  • Vaccination preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Patrol residence and report any observations leading to loss or damage of property.
  • Monitor resident activities and act to restore order if needed.
  • Make out reports as required.
  • Act as escort for residents.
  • Screen calls and visitors.
  • Monitor the self administration of medication.
  • Complete incident reports in AWARDS.
  • Prepare the following as needed: laundry schedule, census update, case assignments, roll call sheet, and client probation list.
  • Help maintain transition and facilities logs.
  • Monitor roll call sheet.
  • Wake clients in the morning.
  • Make periodic inspections of clients’ rooms.
  • Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed.
  • Related duties as assigned.
