The Residential Aide for the Bridge Home Program provides evening, overnight, and weekend support and supervision for the program participants. This role is intended for individuals with lived experience of opioid addiction who can serve as positive role models and offer peer support. Programming and clinical services will be provided by partner agencies; the monitor's role is to provide a safe, supportive presence outside of structured program hours. The Residential Aide will maintain appropriate records in addition to written and verbal communication with the Program Manager. The Position is Responsible for: Providing evening, overnight, and weekend supervision of program participants. Maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Serving as a positive role model, drawing from personal experience with recovery. Offering informal peer support and encouragement as appropriate. Communicating concerns or incidents to Program Manager promptly. Completing basic shift logs and documentation as required. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, writes, and communicates the English language. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to relate well with a variety of people. Ability and willingness to work from a team approach. Ability to empathize and serve as a role model. Ability to exhibit personal integrity, mature judgment, and emotional stability suitable to the job. Ability to adhere to The Salvation Army Mission Statement by practicing respect, esteem, and dignity toward all mankind. Ability to operate and answer a multi-line telephone. Ability to stay awake and alert while on shift. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office and transitional housing environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
