Residential Advisor
About The Position
Evening Residential Advisor - Full Time Location: Asheville, NC Pay: Starting 17.00 per hour per hour and increases based on experience Schedule: Full time Position + benefits and PTO/Sick time Evenings weekday and at least 1 day of the weekend 8 hours per shift Wednesdays - Saturdays W 1pm - 10 pm Th 4pm - 8pm Fri 4pm - 8pm Sa 1pm - 10pm CooperRiis is a therapeutic healing community located in Asheville. We are a Smoke/Drug/Alcohol Free Facility. CooperRiis strives to maintain high standards of safety for our employees and residents during COVID-19 by following State and CDC guidelines. All staff are required to follow the COVID-19 protocol with no exceptions. This includes, but is not limited to: temperature monitoring, social distancing, wearing a mask, wearing other protective gear as necessary for the position, cleanliness, and hand washing.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in psychology, social work, or other directly related field preferred
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build supportive relationships with residents
- Ability to communicate both written and orally
- Experience working with adults coping with mental health challenges or emotional distress preferred
- Ability to effectively handle crisis situations
Responsibilities
- Plan and actively assist residents in their recovery process and attaining their goals
- Provide a positive evening experience and encourage participation in planned events
- Responds to any critical needs or crisis situations
- Provides documentation on each resident
- First responder for on call services throughout the night and may be awakened by a resident
