About The Position

Our Job Corps programs provide life-changing services that help young people succeed in school, obtain good jobs, excel in their chosen fields, and serve as contributing members of their communities. We accomplish this through an intense commitment to safety, quality service, excellence, and partnerships. The position requires meeting at least bi-weekly with assigned students, managing student incidents to protect all students from harm, and documenting individual meetings with students to address issues and express plans to resolve problems. Coordination with other staff is essential, and all actions must be documented in the student folder. The role also involves conducting dormitory inspections, participating in events, completing assignments within time frames, maintaining accurate student folders, and ensuring all accountability documents and reports are submitted on time. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some College in Human Services area preferred.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

  • Meets at least bi-weekly with assigned students.
  • Manages student incidents to protect all students from harm.
  • Documents individual meetings with students to address issues and express plans to resolve problems.
  • Notifies other staff to coordinate services by memo, phone, or personal conversation.
  • Conducts dormitory inspections yielding acceptable ratings.
  • Actively participates in events, demonstrating professional behaviors for students and modeling employment skills.
  • Completes assignments within time frames and rarely needs correction.
  • Maintains up-to-date student folders with accurate history of services provided.
  • Ensures medical and AWOL removal logs indicate all procedures have been followed.
  • Makes regular entries in dorm logs indicating conditions of dorms during rounds.
  • Submits all accountability documents and reports accurately and within established time frames.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
