About The Position

HealthRIGHT 360 gives hope, builds health, and changes lives for people in need by providing comprehensive, integrated, compassionate care that includes primary medical care, mental health services, and substance use disorder treatment. HealthRIGHT 360 offers residential treatment services designed to serve individuals and families with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our program helps clients address addiction and related issues, increase skills, manage stressors, connect to supportive service, and build a foundation for lasting recovery. Residential programs run 24/7 and Individual and group therapy, family therapy, individualized case management, treatment planning, drug and alcohol counseling, Medication support services, and crisis intervention.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a United States accredited program for Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
  • Possession of a current, valid California Registered Nurse License, Furnishing license.
  • Possession of a California Nurse Practitioner Certificate or a current, valid California License to practice as a Physician Assistant.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certificate or recertification within 2 months of hire.
  • Possession or DEA license and X waiver or will obtain one within one month of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience working with people who have experienced addiction, homelessness, incarceration and trauma.
  • Training in motivational interviewing or recovery coaching.
  • Advanced knowledge in primary care-based psychiatry.

Responsibilities

  • Management of intoxication and withdrawal states.
  • Initiation and monitoring of Medically Assisted Treatment.
  • Evaluation and management of addiction related medical and psychiatric problems.
  • Conducting medical histories and performing physical examinations.
  • Applying screening tools and ordering laboratory tests.
  • Completing standard documentation related to the treatment of addiction.
  • Working in collaboration with medical and behavioral health staff.
  • Providing direct patient care within HealthRIGHT 360's Central Intake Department, Withdrawal Management Program, and/or Residential Programs.
  • Supervising the MAT healthcare treatment team in the absence of the Director of Addiction Medicine.
  • Determining severity of drug and alcohol use based on current DSM criteria.
  • Evaluating and treating drug and alcohol related withdrawal with medications.
  • Determining appropriate ASAM Level of Care based on ASAM criteria.
  • Assessing clients for clearance to enter withdrawal management and prescribing appropriate medication.
  • Monitoring clients in the Withdrawal Management Program to ensure safe and effective treatment.
  • Conducting physical examinations for clearance for the Residential Program.
  • Educating clients on opioid reversal and Narcan Use.
  • Maintaining complete and detailed records of medical history, assessment, and health care plans.
  • Consulting with the Director of Addiction Medicine for treatment or referral options.
  • Providing oversight for Advanced Practice Providers.
