About The Position

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Residential Services Coordinator, assists in the personal care and treatment of individuals with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. Candidate is responsible for implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs developed to maximize an individual's potential for increased independence. Typical duties include: training and assisting residents in daily living skills such as personal care; interpersonal communication skills; household cleaning; meal preparation and laundry; implementation of Behavior Treatment Plans which may include the use of therapeutic physical and verbal intervention; maintaining required documentation; and assisting residents in participation in community activities. Attend mandatory staff meetings and in-service training sessions Requirements: Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. is required. Must receive and maintain certification in Department of Community Health Group Home Skill Training. Must be able to understand written instructions. Ability to accurately and effectively communicate both in writing and verbally is required. Must be able to read and follow medication charts. Candidate will provide crisis intervention as needed (Therapeutic Options A & Therapeutic Option B on an Emergency basis) and must be physically able to do lifting and transferring of physically impaired consumers according to approved agency policies/procedures. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required. Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a criminal background check (including fingerprinting), a physical exam, and verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record. Schedule: Week 1- Saturday 12a-715a; Sun off; Mon 11:15pm-12am; Tues 12a-715a and 11:15p-12a; Wed 12a-715a; Thursday off; Friday off Week 2- Saturday 11:15-12a; Sun 12a-7:15a and 11:15p-12a; Mon 12a-715a; Tues off; Wed 1pm -3pm staff meeting, 11:15p-12a; Thursday 12a-715a and 11:15p-12a; Friday 12a-715a and 11:15pm-12am Location: Arch , Adult Mental Health Services. Lansing, Michigan.

Requirements
