About The Position
The Resident Teacher Licensure (RTL) Maryland Approved Alternative Preparation Program (MAAPP) for Special Education is a two-year program designed to support career changers who aspire to become Special Education Teachers in Elementary or Secondary Education. This program is a collaborative effort between the Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) and the Maryland State Department of Education. Participants in this program will attend classes and engage in an internship during the summer months, with classroom placements beginning in August. Upon successful completion of the program, candidates will receive a state-approved Licensure in both Special Education and General Education.
