About The Position

The position is focused on providing worthwhile benefits and programs that improve the lives of residents. The individual will act as an advocate, facilitator, mediator, and community provider, developing and implementing various programs to enhance community relations and resident support.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of management experience with a successful track record in customer service.
  • Computer experience using spreadsheet and word processing programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an Anti-Drug Program including crime watch, building captains, education and prevention activities.
  • Network with community agencies, businesses, officials, educators, police, and local churches to form partnerships.
  • Familiarize with welfare reform to help prepare residents for changes.
  • Increase use of Neighborhood Network Centers (NNC) to enhance employability and self-sufficiency.
  • Serve as a representative of residents for city, town, or county improvements.
  • Coordinate efforts to establish a Resident Council and provide leadership training.
  • Provide outreach and referral services for residents, including family counseling and job preparation.
  • Maintain effective communication with management and contribute to the site newsletter.
  • Make educational programs available to the community and serve as a mediator in conflicts.
  • Keep residents informed of available services and submit required HUD and Corporate reports.
