About The Position

The Resident Services Coordinator I (Multi-Family Housing) supports families and individuals living in affordable housing by providing resource coordination, community programming, and referrals that promote housing stability, education, and economic mobility. This role serves as a connector between residents, Property Management, and community-based organizations, with a focus on early intervention, engagement, and prevention of housing instability. More complex or intensive cases are escalated to senior resident services staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Gerontology, or related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in resident services, social services, or community-based work. Experience working with families, youth, or low-income populations preferred
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities; able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Flexible schedule, including occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general assistance, advocacy, and referrals related to supportive and social services for residents.
  • Conduct basic needs assessments to identify barriers to housing stability.
  • Support residents in understanding lease obligations, tenant rights, and housing policies.
  • Provide referrals for rental assistance, utility assistance, food access, and emergency resources.
  • Support residents in navigating public benefits and community resources (e.g., CalFresh, Medi-Cal, employment services).
  • Provide referrals and assistance related to childcare access, early childhood education, and subsidized childcare programs.
  • Coordinate and promote after-school, youth enrichment, and summer programming through internal or external partners.
  • Assist residents with job readiness and employment support, including referrals for job training, workforce development, resume assistance, and vocational programs.
  • Support access to adult education, ESL, GED, and digital literacy programs.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating on-site workshops, family-focused events, and community-building activities.
  • Promote resident participation and leadership development opportunities.
  • Support food access programs and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Property Management and Maintenance to address resident concerns impacting housing stability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community-based organizations, schools, and workforce partners.
  • Coordinate visiting service providers and on-site programming as appropriate.
  • Respond appropriately to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and established protocols.
  • Report safety concerns or incidents promptly to supervisors and Property Management.
  • Accurately document resident interactions, referrals, and outcomes.
  • Maintain resident service files and assist with required reporting.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support resident services operations.
