About The Position

The East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) is a nonprofit community development organization that has been building healthy, vibrant, and safe neighborhoods in Oakland and the East Bay for over 50 years. We are seeking a bilingual (Cantonese/English) Resident Services Coordinator (RSC I/II) to support residents at our Chinatown properties. This role provides individualized support, organizes community-building activities, and partners with local service providers to ensure residents — particularly Chinese-speaking seniors and families — have access to resources that support housing stability, health, and well-being.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years’ experience in social services, community engagement, or housing-based programs for RSC I.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in social services, community engagement, or housing-based programs for RSC II.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • Fluency in Cantonese (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with immigrant-serving resources and senior support programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (training provided if not current).
  • Must pass DOJ and criminal background checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in social services, housing support, or community-based programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public administration, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support with housing stability, public benefits, employment readiness, and basic financial literacy.
  • Respond to resident concerns, including mediation, conflict resolution, and crisis support.
  • Partner with local service providers to ensure culturally appropriate services (e.g., senior programs, food access, wellness programs).
  • Coordinate food distribution and connect residents experiencing food insecurity to local food banks.
  • Develop inclusive resident engagement strategies through one-on-one outreach, resident meetings, and community events.
  • Facilitate workshops, orientations, and presentations in both English and Cantonese.
  • Collaborate with Property Management to support residents at risk of eviction or facing safety concerns.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in EBALDC’s data systems.
