About The Position

The Resident Safety Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors at our Westtown Apartments campus. This position is primarily responsible for monitoring surveillance systems overnight and alerting appropriate internal or external parties when assistance is needed. In addition, the role includes janitorial responsibilities focused on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in common areas and office spaces.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to remain alert and attentive during overnight hours.
Strong communication skills and the ability to respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk the campus, and perform manual cleaning tasks.
Commitment to the mission of serving individuals experiencing homelessness with dignity and respect.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a safety, janitorial, or facilities support role preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor campus security cameras during overnight hours.
Remain alert and vigilant to identify unusual or concerning activity.
Notify on-call staff, emergency services, or other appropriate responders when needed.
Document incidents and maintain accurate overnight activity logs.
Conduct regular walk-throughs of designated areas as assigned.
Clean and sanitize shared common areas, including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and break rooms.
Maintain cleanliness of staff office areas, including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and wiping down surfaces.
Restock janitorial supplies in common areas and notify supervisor when inventory is low.
Assist with minor maintenance or facility-related tasks as needed.
Answer emergency maintenance calls as needed.
