We’re looking for a Resident Project Representative (RPR) to join our Northeast Water business in Syracuse, NY ! As an RPR, you will serve as the primary liaison between the engineers and the contractors throughout all phases of our projects. You will provide on-site observation of water and sewer main construction which includes civil, piping, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and controls construction associated with water and wastewater treatment facility modifications. This is an integral role within the project team as you will represent GHD to clients, regulatory agencies, the public, and other interested parties. You'll perform operational and administrative data collection and analysis while maintaining appropriate reports and records, field verification of conformance with contract documents and assist with contract close-out documentation. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Solutions Analysis: Find the most effective ways to respond to routine functional inquiries. Involves following procedures and precedents. Testing: Develop product specifications and design test procedures and standards. Project Management: Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities. Insights and Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports. Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends. Product and Solution Development: Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products. Work Scheduling and Allocation: Design own monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done. Equipment Installation: Help specialists set up and test new products or processes; install complex systems with guidance. Plant and Machinery Maintenance and Repair: Maintain and repair complex plant and machinery and supervise the work of team members and contractors to ensure that the plant and machinery meet operational requirements, including conformance with regulatory and organizational health, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction observation and/or construction management; water and sewer main utility construction preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Willing and able to travel throughout the state of NY
