About The Position

Responsible for the fulfillment of academic requirements of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and successfully completing all coursework and clinical rotations. In addition, responsible for inpatient and outpatient care and documentation as assigned. Patients of all ages served. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.

Requirements

  • Graduated from medical school within application within 5 Yrs or Patient care experience within application of 5 Yrs
  • Medical schools must appear in one of the following directories: American Osteopathic Association
  • Medical schools must appear in one of the following directories: Liaison Committee on Medical Education
  • Medical schools must appear in one of the following directories: World Directory of Medical Schools
  • Have verified U.S. clinical experience.
  • Maintain eligibility for Board Certification as outlined by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Required
  • American Board of Family Medicine. Required
  • Be eligible for a Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license. Required
  • Have a maximum of two failed attempts on all USMLE Required, or COMLEX exams across all exam portions Required, or USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX Level 3 to be passed of Step 2 (CK) / Level 2 (CE) within 5 Yrs Required, or The first USMLE/COMLEX exam of starting residency or completed the SPEX exam within three attempts completed within 8 Yrs.
  • International medical school graduates must have ECFMG certification. and Current international medical school students must be certified by residency start date.
  • Past international medical school graduates must be certified for interview selection.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation. Required
  • Able to communicate in written and spoken English with full professional proficiency (Interagency Language Roundtable Level 4) with patients and the medical team.
  • Able to assimilate information from written sources.
  • Ability to make accurate observations and elicit information during patient interactions.
  • Able to perform physical examinations, minor surgical procedures, non-operative obstetric procedures, injections, suturing, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well as operating procedural equipment.
  • Able to complete 24-hour patient care shifts.
  • Possess basic computer navigation skills and the ability to input orders and documentation into the electronic health record.
  • Qualified to begin work by mid-June.
  • Able to travel between multiple clinical sites.
