Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Resident in Medical Oncology; The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is now accepting applications for a Resident in Medical Oncology at the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (LVMC). The LVMC offers specific training programs designed to prepare residents for active careers in academia or specialty practice and for certification by the appropriate specialty college. The residency employment terms are renewed annually within the three year program duration, contingent on available funding. Residents will follow specific program guidelines and may rotate through various internal and external specialty areas specific to their program’s requirements. Residents are expected to provide backup duties in emergency cases, along with weekend and after-hours obligations. Residents participate in clinical rounds, oncology journal club and book club, as well as various section and departmental academic programs. Attendance and participation in the seminar component of the training program is required by all residents. Department/Program & College Description: The LVMC is a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide specialized care and comprehensive medical and surgical services for companion and large animals throughout Iowa and surrounding states. Our clinicians, residents, interns, technicians, staff, and senior veterinary students work collaboratively to provide 24-hour, high-quality care to animal patients.
