Join us as part of Seattle Children’s one-year RN Residency program! A Nurse Resident is a registered staff nurse who has worked less than one year and has been hired into the Residency Program. In addition to the duties and responsibilities described in the Job Summary, the Nurse Resident will participate in didactic training, leadership development, mentoring, and teamwork to support transition into practice. Through direct mentorship and shadow experiences, as a Nurse Resident you will engage your pediatric curriculum and patient care orientation to help you develop into a pediatric nurse. The RN Residency Program is one year in length and focuses on preparing each new graduate for their role as a pediatric nurse. The following departments are hiring: Medical F3 Rehabilitation Acute Care Float Pool (ACFP) Cardiac Specialty Care Unit (CSCU) If a department is not listed above, they are not hiring for this cohort. Our ICUs and ED look for significant experience in these areas. This could include paid work experience (CNA, Nurse Tech, etc.), clinical rotations or senior practicum experience. Consider selecting one of the other available departments if you don't have significant experience in these areas. Please Note: All departments will have 0.9 FTE available (36 hours/week). Available shifts will vary depending on the needs of the department. We have the following shifts available: night shift and day/night rotating shifts. Candidates will not have the ability to choose shift of hire, and most are offered a night shift. You will be able to select your top two departments in the application. You'll also be asked to explain why you are interested in those departments. Nurse Residency Program - Seattle Children's (seattlechildrens.org) As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. Responsible for providing safe, family centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient's family, significant others, and members of the health care team. May be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. Assists in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), ART, etc. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
