About The Position

The Resident Manager (RM) is a key staff member within the Ector County ISD Operations Department, responsible for managing an assigned apartment community. This role involves fostering a community atmosphere, providing resources to residents, planning events, and addressing maintenance and policy concerns. The RM must demonstrate energy, self-discipline, and commitment while effectively communicating and managing diverse resident needs.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and strive to develop a community atmosphere among residents.
  • Promote interaction among residents through programs such as Monthly Meals, Game Night, and Movie Night.
  • Coordinate events, programs, and area socials as directed.
  • Actively promote and participate in housing organization activities and programs.
  • Communicate with and serve as a liaison between residents and the Operations Department.
  • Be available to residents during commonly accessible hours such as afternoons and evenings.
  • Write reports and document meetings and incidents.
  • Liaise with vendors and repair subcontractors as necessary.
  • Enforce and explain the apartment lease and all policies during check-ins and welcomes.
  • Mediate resident conflicts in a timely manner and provide proper follow-up and referral when appropriate.
  • Report conduct and behavioral problems associated with negative tenant conduct to the Operations Department.
  • Conduct assigned apartment check-ins and checkouts.
  • Make weekly rounds of each assigned property/building to identify safety concerns, maintenance items, and lease violations.
  • Create and maintain repair/replacement logs and filter change logs.
  • Maintain an inventory log of furniture, fixtures, and HVAC units.
  • Act as backup for the caretaker of the other home (Chancellor to Killian and vice versa).
  • Change 7 different AC filters every 90 days.
  • Check lint filters daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
