About The Position

The Resident Life Coordinator is responsible for managing the residence life program at Charleston Southern University, overseeing daily operations of university housing facilities, and providing crisis management and response. This role focuses on creating an educational environment that fosters academic success, spiritual growth, and community development among students. The coordinator will also supervise a team of Resident Assistants, develop programming, and handle administrative tasks related to student housing.

Requirements

• Experience in residence life or student affairs management.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise judgment in crisis situations.
• Experience in program development and implementation.
• Knowledge of university policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operations of all university housing facilities.
• Provide crisis management and response for residence life issues.
• Work with individual students to resolve personal, social, or academic problems.
• Develop and manage an educational environment that supports academic success and community development.
• Hire, train, appraise, and supervise a team of Resident Assistants.
• Develop and implement educational and social programming for residents.
• Coordinate room assignments and conduct inspections of housing facilities.
• Facilitate positive interpersonal relationships within the residential community.
• Manage administrative functions such as scheduling shifts and completing reports.
• Coordinate maintenance and security with the supervision of student resident assistants.
