About The Position

AtkinsRéalis seeks a highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, Georgia team as a Resident Engineer. Our teams do it all! They also work on local, state and federal projects that include small, medium and large planning, design-bid-build, and design-build projects. Our teams work on, and travel to, federal projects throughout the US, as well as Europe and the Middle East. They also work with other engineering groups in numerous offices across the US. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Professional accreditation or licensure as a Civil Engineer is advantageous.
  • Extensive experience (15-20 years) in Resident Engineering roles.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and specifications relevant to infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of construction professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) is desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and oversight throughout the construction phases of projects.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of contractors, subcontractors, and construction personnel on site.
  • Conduct regular inspections, quality assessments, and progress evaluations to monitor project performance.
  • Resolve technical issues, disputes, and challenges that may arise during construction, ensuring timely resolution to minimize delays.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, design teams, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and milestones.
  • Prepare and review project documentation, including reports, drawings, schedules, and budgets.
  • Implement effective project control measures to manage costs, schedules, and resources efficiently.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and site staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
