Job Description: Job Family Definition: The job family spans across multiple engineering disciplines. Work consists of designing, developing, analyzing, troubleshooting and debugging systems, software and solutions for research and/or research development of product, services, and solutions for HPE’s portfolio. Requires a broad knowledge and application of engineering disciplines, methodologies and tools. Job Family Definition for Executive Levels only: Directs and manages a diverse team of engineering professionals performing research, development, design and/or implementation of products, services, solutions for the company’s portfolio. Responsible for creating and communicating technical strategy within the organization and/or across the function. Management Level Definition: Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Might act as project lead and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or equivalent experience.
• 6 years experience in resident engineering focusing on service providers.
• Expert level knowledge in routing and switching.
• Expert-level experience with HPE Juniper product such as MX, PTX, and EX series.
• Experience testing and certifying Junos and Junos EVO software features, as well as associated hardware.
• Evaluating forms of empirical analysis, modeling and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
• Ability to develop automation for test cases and write scripts in Python.
• Using and evaluating appropriate engineering design tools and software packages to design components and solutions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Conducting reviews of material specifications and hardware, software, and electrical component design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the HPE product subject matter expert, providing assistance to the customer in areas such as network design, troubleshooting, hardware and software testing, documentation, best practices, and automation.
• Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on engineering design and development.
• Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality.
• Provides domain-specific expertise and overall engineering leadership and perspective to cross- organization projects, programs, and activities
• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the engineering design organization.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
