About The Position

The Resident Engineer serves as a key interface between the customer and Marquardt and is responsible for managing and supporting the OEM and/or Tier 1 customer throughout the development, validation, pre-production builds, and launch of a project. This involves close collaboration with the customer product development team to ensure key project milestones are known and met.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or higher in Engineering or related field
  • Required 3+ years experience working with GM
  • Experience with GM AAR & TALC process is a MUST
  • Experience with GM’s ECR & Cement process is a MUST
  • 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry
  • Computer skills including: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Email
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a resident engineer capacity
  • MRP software (SAP preferred)
  • PLM software

Responsibilities

  • Support product development team (PDT) communication meetings between OEM Customer and Marquardt
  • Recommending additional testing and development as required, and assisting with the failure mode and effects analysis process
  • Creating engineering work orders to release parts and gain program team approval of piece cost and tooling
  • Support vehicle build events and launches for new and carry-over products at OEM and Tier 1 customer locations across North America
  • Resolving system issues and determining the root cause and verifying the resolution of test incidents
  • Review/Approve owner’s manual documentation for responsible products and their correct function and interface to the vehicle
  • Participate in warranty review meetings to resolve any product quality and warranty issues
  • Support sales & business development in identifying new opportunities and facilitating dialogue between both organizations to secure new business
