About The Position

The Senior Staff Resident Network Engineer at Juniper Networks is a highly technical role focused on providing post-sales on-site support for Juniper's networking products. This position requires the engineer to develop and maintain expertise in the products deployed within the customer's network, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The role demands a strong understanding of networking protocols and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues, all while working closely with customer engineers and internal teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of deep understanding of routing and switching protocols: OSPF, BGP/MP-BGP, MPLS.
  • Direct knowledge of L2 and L3 multicast deployments.
  • Security+ certification is required; CASP or CISSP would work.
  • Expertise in configuration, troubleshooting, and operation of IP-based routers, switches, and security devices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE, CCNP, CCIE are a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work calmly under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide post-sales on-site support for Juniper's networking products.
  • Develop and maintain expertise on the products deployed within the customer's network.
  • Perform pre/post-sales Engineering Design/Architecture, Operational, and Support of Juniper products.
  • Support routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records.
  • Configure and test hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Participate in evaluation of new network technologies and make recommendations to the network architecture team.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.
  • Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network.
  • Prepare troubleshooting procedures for restoring the network to optimal performance levels.
  • Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.
