About The Position

SodexoMagic Campus Dining is seeking an innovative Resident District Manager (Sr Food Service General Manager) at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. This is an opportunity to leverage your experience to take the next step in your career. We are seeking an experienced Campus Dining General Manager with strong strategic leadership, financial acumen, talent management, and strong communication and project management skills. SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and Sodexo. As a certified minority company, we deliver food, facilities management and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges and universities and aviation lounges. This strategic alliance between Magic Johnson Enterprises and Sodexo, Inc., enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of Food Service General Management in a high volume, high profile University dining operation
  • Demonstrate strong Client and Employee Engagement leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively
  • Demonstrate strong Financial Acumen with a working knowledge of financial management software, food management systems, Kronos or similar time management programs
  • Working knowledge of Sodexo systems including The Market Connection (TMC) or other purchasing platforms, Financial Software including E=Vision
  • Proficient computer skills and report management experience
  • Strategic in thought and action
  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain professional, positive working relationships with clients, liaisons, customers, employees, and vendors

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients and regional leadership in all matters relating to contract, account operations and budget to establish and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship that ensures account growth and account retention
  • Have oversight of day-to-day operations
  • Achieve company and client financial targets and goals
  • Work both horizontally and vertically within both organizations and have outstanding presentation skills
  • Manage a large food service operation in a contract management environment
  • Ensure employee engagement through development and training of the management team, as well as hourly frontline employees
