The Resident Director (RD) is a 12-month, live-in professional responsible for the comprehensive management and daily operations of an assigned residence hall within a residential area. Resident Directors are educators who create intentional and inclusive communities that foster student development, wellbeing, and belonging. RDs provide direct supervision and leadership to a team of student staff and serve as front-line responders during crisis and emergency situations. They play an integral role in the development and implementation of community standards, conflict resolution, student support and referrals, programmatic initiatives, and departmental operations. RDs are also actively engaged in supporting university-wide events, professional development opportunities, and committee assignments. The RD serves as a Title IX and Equal Opportunity Responsible Employee and must promptly report allegations of sexual harassment, assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, or protected category-based discrimination to the Director of Equal Opportunity/Title IX Coordinator.
