Dewberry is currently seeking a full-time Resident Construction Inspector with 3-5 years of experience for our Boston, MA office. The position will perform a variety of construction related inspection work, including project operations oversite and client facing support of infrastructure projects in the Boston area. Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent is required, associate’s degree in engineering and/or NICET II is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Works in a timely fashion to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborative approach to working in a team that includes the owner and contractor.
  • Communicates effectively with clients, coworkers, subconsultants, and agency review staff.
  • Additional requirements include excellent communications skills, and ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.
  • Applicant must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the construction site.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor contractor operations for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Organize, track, and manage daily reporting and project logs for all related project field activities.
  • Facilitate client-facing Owner/Engineer/Contractor progress meetings.
  • Coordinate and schedule various phases of construction inspection with the prime contractor and project stakeholders.
  • Be proactive in identifying field issues and discussing solutions with supervisor
  • Prepare and process construction records, including RFI’s, submittals, field measurements for progress pay applications, and contract change orders.
