The Office of Juvenile Affairs is seeking a Resident Care Specialist IV. This position will provide supervision of direct care staff and provide care, custody, and security for at-risk youth at Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. As a Hope-centered agency the Office of Juvenile Affairs is focused on recognizing strengths, promoting resilience, and building a future-oriented mindset in both staff and residents. Previous security experience working with juveniles in a residential care and treatment facility is required. $5,000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE $6,000 CONTINUOUS SERVICE BONUS AVAILABLE Basic Purpose Positions in this job family are involved in providing direct care, supervision and security, transportation, and role modeling to adjudicated youth in the custody of the juvenile justice system. This will include providing paraprofessional guidance and counseling to residents, interventions to control aggressive behaviors, documentation of behaviors and activities, and monitoring and moderation of resident behavior. Education and Experience All direct-care staff shall be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or its equivalent (10 O.S. § 401 et seq.); the completion of thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university or one year of security experience; plus three years of security experience working with juveniles in a residential care and treatment facility. Compensation RCS IV- $26.44 an hour Work Schedule Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center is a 24-hour facility. This position is subject to shift work and applicants must be willing to work any shift as needed to provide coverage. Overtime may be required if necessary to maintain the facility. 1st Shift 7:00am to 3:00pm 2nd Shift 3:00pm to 11:00pm 3rd Shift 11:00pm to 7:00am
