About The Position

The Resident Automation Technician I supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site’s performance through trouble-shooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer sites, the Resident Automation Technician I must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained. Shift: Monday-Friday 2:30PM-11:30PM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
  • Previous experience in electrical or mechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems preferred.
  • Thorough attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to stand and walk around industrial and/or warehouse environment for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to work safely with and around moving and/or motorized equipment, machinery, parts, and electricity that require safety protocols
  • Ability to move and use muscles for extended periods of time without fatigue.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
  • Ability to communicate regularly with others verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
  • This position requires work at TGW customer sites. TGW’s customers may require background checks before accessing their sites. Refusal to participate in a customer-required background check may result in a customer barring access and a subsequent reduction in work.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
  • Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
  • Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
  • Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
  • Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with the broader TGW Lifetime Services team to track, document, and communicate issues and lessons learned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
