About The Position
New Glarus Home is a skilled nursing facility committed to providing a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for our residents. Our team works together to support residents’ comfort, well-being, and quality of life. Position Summary The Resident Assistant (RA) provides non-hands-on support to residents by assisting with daily routines, engagement, and general supervision. This role focuses on resident interaction, safety monitoring, and coordination with nursing staff, without providing direct personal or medical care .
Requirements
- Previous experience in a healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or customer service role preferred
- Compassionate, dependable, and patient demeanor
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- No clinical license or certification required
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly supervision and support to residents in common areas
- Respond to call lights and notify nursing staff of resident needs
- Assist residents with non-hands-on tasks such as reminders, escorting, and wayfinding, passing of meal trays, water and snacks
- Encourage participation in activities and social engagement
- Monitor residents for safety and report concerns or changes to nursing staff
- Assist with meal set-up and clean-up (no feeding or personal care)
- Maintain a calm, respectful, and welcoming environment
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care team members
