Generous Employee Referral Program POSITION SUMMARY We are hiring a caring and empathetic Resident Care Assistant (Caregiver) for our premier retirement community, Nikkei Senior Gardens. Nikkei Senior Gardens, located in Arleta, celebrates Japanese-American culture by offering a blend of Japanese and American traditions, cuisine, and activities that cater to the cultural needs of our residents. This makes us unique in our approach to senior living for Japanese Americans. Our Resident Assistants play a critical role in their community. You will provide compassionate and personalized direct care to our residents, assisting them with activities of daily living and ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence, maintaining their privacy, and respecting their dignity. Our RAs work in a team setting to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for our residents.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Current First Aid and CPR license or ability to obtain.
At least 12 months of experience in a professional caregiving setting.
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
A positive attitude, empathy, patience, and a commitment to treating our residents with dignity and respect.
Attention to detail, physical stamina, and high integrity.
Willingness to participate in weekend rotation.

Nice To Haves

Experience with memory care is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring, as needed, while adhering to community protocols, licensing regulations, and guidelines for resident and employee safety.
Prioritize independence and emotional support for the residents by providing compassionate care, engagement, and companionship.
Encourage and assist with participation in life enrichment activity programs.
Assist with light housekeeping duties, such as making beds and tidying rooms.
Promote open communication between healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
