About The Position

Under general supervision, the Resident Assistant provides assistance in the personal care and protection of the residents in the assisted living level of care. This role actively incorporates CARF/CCAC standards into the daily rhythm of residents' lives, developing awareness of their interests and needs to maximize independence and participation. The Resident Assistant works one-on-one with residents, providing direct care and assisting with activities of daily living and scheduled program activities. The position utilizes the “Best Friend” program approach for those with memory support challenges, maintaining a positive, can-do attitude. Effective customer service skills are essential, meeting the standards and culture expectations of the company’s Advantage program. As a team member, this position is expected to present oneself professionally and ensure resident satisfaction.

Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year experience working with elderly requiring memory support, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer for input of resident information

Nice To Haves

  • Some Vocational/technical training in the nursing field specifically with elderly and dementia and/or CNA preferred

  • Provides effective customer service skills meeting the standards and culture expectations of the company’s Advantage program
  • Present oneself in a manner that reflects professionalism and ensures resident satisfaction
