Resident Assistant - Wellness
About The Position
Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking compassionate individuals to join their team of Wellness Resident Assistants. This role involves assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and providing high-quality service in a cheerful and timely manner. As a Partner in Caring, you will work alongside others to deliver person-centered care that respects residents' choices. Otterbein is a non-profit 501(c)(3) health and human service organization with over 100 years of providing senior housing options, including lifestyle communities, small house neighborhoods, home health, and hospice care in Ohio and Indiana. They offer various lifestyle options for seniors through independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, rehab, memory support, respite care, in-home care, and hospice services.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- First Aid Course Certification
Nice To Haves
- Previous Nursing Assistant experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide encouragement and high-quality care in a cheerful, timely manner
- Assist residents with ADLs, including teeth care, toileting, bathing, incontinence and dressing in a caring and supportive manner as needed per resident
- Provide supervision, cueing or other non-weight-bearing assistance related to transfer ambulation as needed per resident
- Roll carts, laundry hampers and other equipment safely through work and resident areas
- Communicate, coordinate and cooperate with resident needs and team structure
- Work as a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge
- Quickly respond to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge
