About The Position
The Resident Assistant (RA) supports older adults or individuals with disabilities who require 24-hour supervision due to physical, functional, or social impairments. The RA assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting independence, dignity, and freedom of choice. All duties are carried out in alignment with the philosophy of Good Shepherd Services.
Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living: dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, mobility, and use of adaptive devices
- Support Instrumental Activities: housekeeping, laundry, phone calls, mail, and resident transportation
- Medication Assistance and monitoring of residents' health status
- Help with meals: serving, cleanup, and encouraging resident independence
- Participate in activities and outings, transport residents, and assist in emergency situations
- Maintain a clean and safe facility environment
