About The Position

The Resident Assistant (Aide) position at Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center is a part-time night shift role focused on providing compassionate care to residents with mild to moderate levels of dementia. Requirements

• Must possess patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in senior care, health care, or assisted living preferred, but not required.
• Ability to follow care plans and safety protocols.
• Working knowledge of computers including electronic health records and email.
• Physical, visual, and auditory ability adequate to perform resident care.
• Ability to maintain composure and positivity in a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Assist residents in taking medications as needed.
• Encourage and support resident independence and dignity.
• Monitor resident safety and well-being, reporting any changes to the LPN.
• Consult with the LPN/RN on any changes in health statuses of residents.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents, understanding their personal histories, preferences, and routines.
• Help with light housekeeping and meal service as needed.
• Participate in team meetings and communicate/collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
• Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment.
