Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Aide (PCA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience preferred
• One (1) year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a medical or healthcare setting
• Experience with older adults is preferred
• Willingness to complete medication assistance training preferred
• Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and with empathy to build rapport and achieve high quality of care with resident, families, co-workers, and other medical professionals
• Able to push, pull, lift, and carry trays of food, laundry bags, heavy boxes, and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, frequently bending, stooping, and reaching
• Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical, including a tuberculin skin test or blood assay.

Responsibilities

• Support residents of Longview to thrive in an environment to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being
• Take the next steps in your healthcare career through compassionate approach and working closely with residents, family, and the health care team
• Assist with daily personal care as well as encouraging resident participation in social and recreational activities
• Assist and monitor residents with personal care such as bathing, dressing, incontinent care, laundry, and daily living activities as indicated in their service plan which includes physical and emotional wellbeing
• Document resident care notes
• Assist residents to and from the dining room
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and quality of care
• Respond promptly to call bell system and complete safety rounds
