About The Position

The Resident Aide/Caregiver/Med Tech position at Vineyard Assisted Living Community involves providing essential care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities and medication management. Requirements

  • Ability to assist residents with daily living activities and medication management.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a caregiving or healthcare role.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices.
  • Familiarity with electronic medication administration records (MAR).

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with administration, supervision, and monitoring of their medication in accordance with HFA licensing requirements.
  • Be trained in Medication Administration in Assisted Living and follow the 6 rights of medication management.
  • Learn about medications and adverse reactions, especially in the senior population.
  • Assist teammates with residents' personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, and ambulating.
  • Apply universal infection control in all care activities to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Observe residents for changes in physical and mental health status and communicate changes to the Medication Room Manager or Director of Resident Care.
  • Report all consistent resident refusals of scheduled medications and prolonged use of PRN medications to the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure that residents who leave the building have their medications and instructions to take with them.
  • Complete resident incident reports and notify the Director of Resident Care or Care Center Coordinator of any incidents that occur on their shift.
  • Assist residents with personal care needs, including toileting and fall prevention.
  • Assist residents with participation in social activities and help familiarize them with their new community.
  • Utilize infection control techniques in all aspects of resident care.
  • Communicate effectively with teammates and subsequent shifts.
