About The Position

The Resident Advisor will assist the residents in fulfilling their day-to-day activities and responsibilities of the program. Responsible for the condition of the house, safety, enforcing rules, cleaning, general office, clerical and phone work, meal preparation and service, as well as reporting on residents' progress, incidents, and successes, and communicating these to Case Management staff and Corps Officers.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • At least two (2) years working with people.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents in fulfilling their day-to-day activities and responsibilities of the program.
  • Ensure the condition of the house and safety of residents.
  • Enforce rules and maintain cleanliness.
  • Perform general office, clerical, and phone work.
  • Prepare and serve meals.
  • Report on residents' progress, incidents, and successes.
  • Communicate updates to Case Management staff and Corps Officers.
