About The Position

The Resident Advisor (RA) at Great Basin College plays a crucial role in facilitating the social, academic, and personal adjustment of students within the residence hall. This part-time position involves developing a sense of community among residents, serving as a positive role model, and enforcing college policies. The RA acts as a liaison between residents and college administration, ensuring a supportive living environment.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in at least 9-12 GBC degree-seeking credits.
• Preference to those who have completed 12 credits.
• Must have and maintain a 2.75 Cumulative GPA in good standing.
• Willingness to learn, good judgment, experience, and maturity are a plus.
• Offer and acceptance of employment is contingent upon a clean background check.

Nice To Haves

• Preference to those who have stayed at least one semester in GBC Housing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the supervision of the residence facilities, responding to all requests and emergencies during duty hours.
• Design and implement programs and activities that promote community engagement among residents.
• Enforce the rules and policies of GBC Housing and the College.
• Act as a resource for residents, providing support and guidance as needed.
• Foster a positive living environment by promoting respect and inclusivity among residents.
