About The Position

The Resident Advisor performs a variety of administrative and client-centered wellness and safety activities at assigned interim and family housing sites. This entry-level position reports to a site program manager and requires knowledge of housing first, harm reduction, and trauma-informed principles. The role involves regular client interactions, requiring good judgment, empathy, compassion, and collaboration to address and resolve issues surrounding client behavior, medical, and housing needs. The Resident Advisor maintains communication with Care Coordinators to support clients with various issues and ensures the general welfare and safety of all persons at the housing site.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections at assigned interim and family housing sites to identify and address potential security issues, safety hazards, health and fire code violations, and maintenance repair needs.
  • Perform and document wellness rounds at assigned facilities to check on client health and safety needs, administer overdose antidotes, and monitor compliance with occupancy agreements.
  • Participate in daily meetings with Program Management, Care Coordinators, and other Resident Advisors to discuss client activity, behavior, and needs.
  • Maintain a welcoming, clean, and supportive environment for clients and visitors.
  • Enforce safety requirements to minimize hazardous conditions that could result in harm.
  • Perform regular walks through the surrounding neighborhood to build relationships and mitigate community concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies by monitoring client behavior and addressing violations.
  • Maintain documents containing client and visitor data to comply with record-keeping requirements.
  • Assist with the receipt, storage, and distribution of meals to clients.
  • Provide administrative and facility set-up assistance for volunteer activities.
  • Attend on-site and off-site trainings and meetings to enhance professional development.
