Bargaining Unit: UUP Job Summary: The Department of Family & Community Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Senior Staff Assistant / Residency Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will: Assist with program operations and provide administrative support. Perform resident data tracking and reporting. Conduct resident clinical scheduling and inpatient coverage coordination. Assist with resident relations and communication. Perform event planning and program support activities. Assist with resident onboarding, Visa support, and compliance. Provide extra support to the administrator in Primary Care 1 Clerkship Director: Coordinate student placement at Family Medicine Clinics and associated Family-Medicine community physicians. Create clinical schedules for both Suite B and Suite 0. Prepare and send didactic lecture schedule to lecturers and students. Assist with such other special projects or staffing support needs as may arise in the Department, e.g., community outreach and marketing; research project support; and coordination of special events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Capable of independently organizing and managing all administrative responsibilities while upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in navigating complex web-based application systems.
  • Ability to assist residents with visa-related matters.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with faculty, residents, and students, all of whom possess advances professional training.
  • Or, a satisfactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training to the above.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in a field related to administration is highly preferred.
