About The Position
The position of Housekeeping and Laundry at The Ritz-Carlton involves delivering newspapers, packages, laundry, and dry-cleaning to the residences' owners, tenants, and guests during the overnight shift. The role requires manning the service elevator as needed and transporting luggage and groceries to and from various units and areas within the property. A key responsibility is to perform and document periodic inspections of the building and grounds, ensuring safety, physical appearance, and maintenance conditions are up to standard. This includes removing trash from each floor and compactor rooms to the loading dock while complying with recycling mandates. Additionally, the position entails maintaining an inventory of supplies and materials, ensuring that inventory levels meet demand. The employee will adhere to scheduled service routines for assigned areas, which include lobbies, corridors, stairwells, elevator cabs, and other common areas. The role also involves posting caution signs to limit traffic when necessary and contacting other departments for urgent repairs. Responding promptly to requests from residents and identifying maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms are also critical tasks. The employee will maintain checklists for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly tasks, presenting these to management regularly. Emergency response actions, such as snow and ice removal and plumbing issues, may also be required. Following company safety and security policies is essential, as is maintaining a clean and professional appearance. The role emphasizes customer service, requiring the employee to welcome and acknowledge residents, anticipate their needs, and assist individuals with disabilities. The physical demands of the job include moving, lifting, and carrying objects, as well as performing tasks that require fine motor skills and coordination.
