About The Position
The position involves supervision and assistance in personal care and habilitative training of residents, along with light housekeeping assignments and medication administration. The role requires accompanying residents on outings and routinely lifting weights of 40 lbs independently and 41-140 lbs with assistance. A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are mandatory, as the employee will be responsible for driving Center vans or other vehicles. The supervisor must ensure that staff empathize with residents and treat them as valued individuals. Direct supervision of residence staff is required, along with the implementation and recommendation of policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors or Administration. The supervisor will attend staff meetings, recommend staff for promotions and merit increases, and evaluate employee performance, which includes a six-month conditional employment period, annual evaluations, and disciplinary actions. Counseling employees regarding job performance, establishing daily work routines for staff, and maintaining effective communication with staff, the Residence Manager, parents, and other departments are also key responsibilities.
