About The Position

The Residence Hall Coordinator III at Alabama State University plays a crucial role in fostering community development and student engagement within the residence halls. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years of related work experience
  • Availability for duty and rotating on-call service during weekends, alternate shifts, various days of the week, and some holidays
  • Ability to live in residence hall location either on or off campus as assigned
  • Basic level of physical strength to move furniture and equipment, climb stairs, and operate a personal computer.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of assigned residence hall community and provide adult supervision and crisis intervention.
  • Support and attend student-sponsored events and activities with the residential community.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of time sheets, daily reports, incident reports, and other related paperwork.
  • Maintain room rosters, including room numbers and telephone numbers for all occupants.
  • Initiate and support policies, programs, and projects that create a holistic residential living and learning environment.
  • Coordinate, plan, schedule, and present educational and social programs with other residential life staff.
  • Report facilities issues accurately and promptly to the appropriate sources for resolution.
  • Provide support, training, guidance, and mentoring for the front desk work study staff.
  • Serve as an advisor, mentor, and resource for the Residence Hall Council.
  • Coordinate and meet regularly with staff members and students.
  • Investigate and respond to concerns of students, parents, university staff, and others with accurate information.
  • Implement building safety and security measures.
  • Collaborate with appropriate University departments on health and safety inspections, fire drills, and housing processes.
