About The Position

Pathways, Inc. is seeking compassionate and hardworking individuals to join our team as Residence Counselors in our residences for adults with developmental disabilities located in Corning, Painted Post, and Elmira, NY. The Residence Counselor is responsible for implementing each individual's Individualized Program Plan, which includes assisting with community integration, social and recreational activities, money management, transportation, and addressing behavioral needs and overall health. The role involves regular meetings with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, and Residence Manager to ensure that services meet the expressed needs and preferences of the individuals served. This position requires respect for each individual’s home and belongings, as well as the agency's property.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills necessary for the position.
• At least one year of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities or a related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines to operate Agency-owned vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Implement each individual's Individualized Program Plan as determined by the individual and their Service Planning Team.
• Assist with community integration and social/recreational activities.
• Support individuals with money management and transportation needs.
• Address behavioral needs and promote overall health and well-being of individuals.
• Meet regularly with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, and Residence Manager to ensure appropriate services are provided.
• Respect each individual’s home, belongings, and Agency property.
