About The Position

Pathways, Inc. is seeking compassionate and hardworking individuals to join our team as Residence Counselors in our residences for adults with developmental disabilities located in Corning, Painted Post, and Elmira, NY. The Residence Counselor plays a crucial role in implementing each individual's Individualized Program Plan, which is determined by the individual and their Service Planning Team. Responsibilities include assisting with community integration, social and recreational activities, money management, transportation, behavioral needs, and overall health and well-being of the individuals. The Residence Counselor will work closely with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, and Residence Manager to ensure that services are appropriate and meet the expressed needs and preferences of the individuals served.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED is preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills are necessary to perform essential functions of the position.
• At least one year of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities or a related field is preferred.
• A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines to operate Agency-owned vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Implement each individual's Individualized Program Plan as determined by the individual and their Service Planning Team.
• Assist with community integration and social/recreational activities.
• Support individuals with money management and transportation needs.
• Address behavioral needs and promote overall health and well-being of individuals.
• Meet regularly with the Shift Supervisor, QIDP, and Residence Manager to discuss service appropriateness and individual needs.
• Respect each individual's home, belongings, and Agency property.
